TEDDY BEAR MUSEUM

Bear with us – we’re on the move … we’re going to BROADWAY . . .
Wimbledon Broadway!
After 18 years in Stratford-upon-Avon, the award-winning Teddy Bear Museum – recently voted one of “the icons” of England: according to CBS News “It’s world-famous and deserves to be” –
is moving from Stratford-upon-Avon, to a new home in London . . .
The Polka Theatre at
240 The Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19.
When he was eighteen, William Shakespeare left Stratford and set off for London and a life in the theatre. Now he’s come of age, William Shakesbear – and Paddington, Sooty, Pudsey, Winnie-the-Pooh and 700 of their furry friends – are doing the same.
Polka is the perfect home for the Teddy Bear Museum’s unique collection of teddy bears. Each year Polka introduces 100,000 children and their families to the magic of theatre. Polka is a place where the whole family comes together in a fantastic child-friendly environment – watching plays in the theatre, reading in the book corner, playing in the playground, enjoying the café, and now – from the spring of 2007 – meeting the teddy bears from the Teddy Bear Museum.
The first of the bears from the Teddy Bear Museum collection will go on show at Polka from 10 February 2007. More will be on display at Polka from April 2007 – their arrival in Wimbledon happily timed to coincide with the opening of Polka’s new production . . . “WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT”
